  • Implemented deployment process using the bit torrent protocol. Also maintained software deployment tools

Intoto, being a small company, provided me with a chance to wear multiple hats. During the 5 years I worked there, I went through a full product development cycle including gathering requirements, design, development and upgrades. As a systems administrator, I also gained experience in networking, network security and systems management.

  • Designed and developed fully functional Java Applications with embedded database support
  • Developed a module for the flagship embedded product; the module was developed in C interfacing with a Linux kernel; the user interface was purely XML/XSL
  • Developed and managed multiple intranet sites using PHP and mySQL/pgSQL
  • Developed a PHP based license and e-commerce server with a pgSQL backend and hooks to Verisign (SOAP)
  • Communicated with and worked alongside development teams in India
  • Helped marketing design prototypes of new products in Java, Visual Basic and C#/.net; including GUI design/layout

Started this company as a part-time consulting business with a couple of friends while attending UCSB. We later continued to consult on small projects from time to time.

  • Designed and created multiple revisions of the Noblehost website

Worked mostly part-time during the school year, and switched to full-time during summer.

  • Programmed in Active Server Pages (ASP), MS SQL, Flash (basic Action scripts), JavaScript

Coolmaps.com Lead Programmer July 1998 – June 1999

Worked part-time during the school year and fully time during the summer. Coolmaps created plugins for NetObjects Fusion (website creation software). The plugins were written in Java and interacted with NetObjects via an API provided by the product. The company also had a membership (club.coolmaps.com) where paying members could have unlimited access to the plugins as well as featured articles.

  • Programmed plugins (components) in Java using the NetObjects API
  • Wrote a featured article for the “Coolmaps Components Club” on developing simple web applications using Coldfusion and MS Access
